History, nursing and culture intertwine on this journey through Turkey and the Greek island of Rhodes. It would be hard to find such a concentration of historically significant nursing and medical sites anywhere else, amidst some of the richest culture and history in the world.

This specialist study tour will visit Florence Nightingale’s museum in Istanbul, where modern nursing was established, and review her singular contribution to nursing. You will visit Gallipoli and examine how the military shaped the nursing profession, with these structures still evident in modern nursing today. You will also visit your nursing peers in both Turkey and Greece. Learn how Nightingale helped develop nursing in Turkey and gain firsthand insight into local approaches to nursing and healthcare.

Your journey encompasses thousands of years of medical history, including Florence Nightingale, the Gallipoli beach hospitals and the Knights of St John. Cuisine is an important part of travel and we have included a number of local restaurants and culinary experiences that highlight the delicious flavours of Turkey and Greece.

Gain unparalleled insight as you travel with Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward along the western coast of Turkey and to Rhodes, with a range of expert talks and specialist visits throughout the tour. This tour is supported by the Australian College of Nursing (ACN). CPD available.
